11 Things Women Tried For Cellulite, Ranked By How Fast They Gave Up

We asked 300 readers. Number 6 nearly won.

We asked 300 of you what you've actually tried for the cellulite on the backs of your thighs. Not what you'd recommend. What you tried, what it cost, and when you gave up.

Here's the list, ranked by how fast you quit. The thing at the end is not a trick; it's the only one anyone was still using at week 4.

1. The $48 jar that smells like a holiday

281 of 300 of you. Average spend on creams: $164. Average time to giving up: 6 weeks. The most common comment, word for word: "it felt nice and did nothing." Here's the thing nobody says on the jar: cellulite is the skin being pulled down in spots from underneath, and a cream stays on top of the skin. Lovely smell. Wrong floor.

2. The blue Q10 one from the drugstore

The $15 version of number 1. Same result, less guilt. One reader keeps buying it "because it's cheap enough to not count." It counts. It's in the $412 total.

3. Dry brushing, a.k.a. the 2026 'cellulogia' thing

190 of you. Average time to giving up: 3 months, which is longer than anything else on this list, because it feels productive. "My skin was smooth for about an hour." Exfoliation with a trend attached.

4. The steel 'lymphatic drainage' roller

The best selling cellulite tool on Amazon by volume. Cold, nice, de-puffs a morning. 0 of the 61 of you who tried it saw a change in the look of the skin. Three kept it, for puffy mornings. Fair.

5. Squats. So many squats.

240 of you. Nobody gave up, which is lovely, and nobody said it went away. "It improved it, it never actually goes away" came up 40 times in different words. Muscle is under the problem. Lotion is on top of it. Neither one reaches the floor in between.

6. Not looking in the mirror

14 of you wrote this unprompted. It got more likes than everything except number 9. We are not going to editorialise. We are going to let it sit there.

7. The cupping set from TikTok

66 of you. Average time to giving up: 4 days. Not because it didn't do anything. Because of a bruise the size of a coaster and a cup you couldn't get off your leg. The right idea, the pump either grips or slips, and you were pulling it straight off. (Tilt it. Nobody told you.)

8. The plastic fascia tool

41 of you. You scrape it over your legs, hard. It hurts, and the bruises are sold as part of the process. Average time to giving up: 11 days. Most of you stopped before you could tell whether it did anything.

9. The spa package. Never buy the package.

58 of you. $85 to $160 a session, average package 8, average sessions actually used: 5. The most liked comment under the whole poll: "never buy a package, that's how they get you." It works while you keep going. The package exists because it goes back when you stop, and the studio knows that better than you do.

10. The group chat

"Has anyone actually fixed their cellulite or are we all just lying." Lying. Lying. Then Jess.

11. The thing Jess has

A woman called Renee commented under the poll. She used to work at one of the clinics in number 9 and left. "The machines at the clinic work the skin from the surface with heat and suction. That's the whole $120. And they sell you 8 because it goes back when you stop." We asked what she uses now that she doesn't get staff pricing. The handheld one. The dermaQ one, the Sculpt 3 Pro, $59. Heat, suction with 9 levels, the red light. Her one rule: suction level 1 for the first two weeks, always with oil, because the bruise from number 7 is what happens when you don't. 9 of the 12 readers who tested it were still using it at week 4. That is the whole result, and it's the only line on this list where that sentence is true.
